Student must be 14 years old before starting apprentice work hours; this
is due to the child labor laws. Students may do academic work until 14th
birthday and then start their apprentice work hours.
Parents of the student are responsible for finding a master tradesman
(at least seven years working in the trade) that will agree to allow the
student to apprentice under him. The master tradesman will be responsible
for calculating the student’s quarterly grade for apprentice work hours and
the grade will be reported to the school in a timely manner at the end of
each nine-week grading period.
Apprentices in grades 9 and 10 must perform apprentice work hours
between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm, as stated in the child labor laws.
NOTE: According to legal
counsel, Charity Christian Academy will not be accepting students from
Arizona, California, Germany, New York, and Tennesee.
