Bible

Bible 500

Bible 500 offers a rich, developmental study of both the Old and New Testaments. Students explore the lives of faithful men and women, the role of angels, the presence of God, effective Bible study methods, Christian relationships, and Paul’s missionary journeys. Lessons are designed around five key strands—theology, the attributes of God, biblical literature, biblical background, and Christian evidences—providing a strong foundation for both academic growth and spiritual maturity.

English/Language Arts

Language Arts 500

Language Arts 500 builds on the sequential development of communication skills in four key areas—reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Throughout the course, students strengthen their understanding and apply their knowledge through engaging lessons and assignments.

By the end of the course, students will:

  • Unit 1: Identify main ideas and the author’s message while building vocabulary skills

  • Unit 2: Strengthen comprehension by reading stories and poetry, with a focus on mood and compound words

  • Unit 3: Explore language structure, including prefixes, suffixes, homonyms, and idioms

  • Unit 4: Apply strategies for clear and effective communication in both writing and speaking

  • Unit 5: Develop storytelling skills, including the use of dialogue in writing

  • Unit 6: Recognize and analyze the unique characteristics of various types of poetry

  • Unit 7: Read and interpret passages while applying knowledge of story elements and language

  • Unit 8: Use descriptive language effectively to compare and contrast ideas

  • Unit 9: Plan, draft, and edit a research-based report with confidence

History

History 500

History and Geography 500 helps students develop a deeper understanding of God’s work in history as revealed through the story of humanity and its relationships. The course emphasizes two main areas: American History and Geography of the Americas.

Students will explore American History from the time of early exploration through Reconstruction, with special attention given to the inventions and technological advancements of the 19th and early 20th centuries. In Geography, students will study the Americas with a focus on Mexico, Canada, and regional geography within the United States.

The course is designed around four key strands: History, Geography, Government and Citizenship, and Social Studies Skills.

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Identify significant explorers—such as Christopher Columbus, Francisco Coronado, Sir Francis Drake, Ferdinand Magellan, and Samuel de Champlain—and recognize their accomplishments.

  • Explain how conflict between the American colonies and Great Britain led to American independence.

  • Understand political and social changes of the 19th century, including those brought by the Industrial Revolution, and how these changes fueled division within the United States.

  • Describe the causes, major events, and effects of the Civil War and Reconstruction.

  • Use geographic tools such as maps, legends, and symbols.

  • Locate and describe U.S. regions, including areas like New England and the Great Plains.

In addition, students will strengthen their communication skills through report-writing and story-writing, exploring topics such as proverbs, the Pledge of Allegiance, frontier life, and key inventions.

Mathematics

Mathematics 500

Math 500 is a full-year course that builds strong number skills, mathematical literacy, and understanding of geometric concepts. Students practice operations with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions, while also exploring measurement, geometry, and problem-solving.

Key topics include:

  • Number Skills: Place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.

  • Algebra & Graphing: Expressions, order of operations, coordinate plane, and graphing.

  • Measurement & Geometry: Perimeter, area, volume, angles, shapes, and transformations.

  • Data & Probability: Collecting data, interpreting graphs, probability, and predictions.

  • Financial Literacy: Basic money management and exploring personal finances.

By the end of Math 500, students gain confidence in applying math to everyday life while preparing for advanced concepts.

Science

Science 500

Science 500 introduces students to the designs and patterns of God’s creation through a broad study of life, earth, and physical sciences. Topics include cells, plants and animals, ecology, geology, energy, matter, fossils, and natural cycles.

Through hands-on experiments and projects, students learn to explore, observe, and discover the world around them. They begin to understand the interrelationships of living things, recognize patterns in ecosystems, and gain awareness of cellular structures.

By the end of the course, students will:

  • Observe and describe the world using their senses.

  • Understand plant and animal cells.

  • Differentiate among plants, animals, fungi, protozoa, and algae.

  • Explain how organisms interact.

  • Discuss energy transformations and natural cycles.

  • Describe geology, fossils, and their relation to the Flood.

Health Quest

Health Quest is a health science elective course for upper elementary and junior high students. The curriculum introduces students to the concepts of what good health is, why good health is important, and what students should do in order to achieve good health.

 

Middle School Ancient Art

Middle school students will study art throughout history from ancient cave paintings through the Renaissance.

 

American Revolution

American Revolution is a video-based course for upper elementary and lower middle school students.

 

Reading Level B

Reading of specific books for students on a fourth – fifth grade level.

 

Reading Level C

Reading using specific books for students on a fifth – sixth grade reading level.
